Field of expertise/main research projects:
H.E Dr Yok Sothy served as lecturer at Preah Kosomak Center from 1987 to 1999 under supervision of the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports. In transition period to Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, he continued offering courses in name of teacher trainer for National Vocational Teacher Education Program (VET) while he undertook his new assignment as Head of Administration Office from 1999 to 2007. During these years, he was leading a research on Innovative and Effective Teaching Methods for TVET teachers, Curriculum Development and National Competency Skill Standard in TVET. With this wealth of experiences in managing and coordinating teacher education projects, he was offered a ladder to become Deputy Director in 2007. Later in 2009, he officially became Director of the National Technical Training Institute. All these years, he was involving in project managements under special grant from Asian Development Bank (ADB) within STVET mandate (Strengthening Technical and Vocational Education) and he also co-chaired the “Creating Employment Opportunities Project” with United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Recently, he also jointed as a non-permanent member to the Economic, Cultural and Social Council of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
